NFL playoffs power rankings after Super Wild Card Weekend and before the divisional round:
1. Titans: It’s good to be the bye.
2. Chiefs: Pittsburgh was a nice story, but not a challenge for the two-time defending AFC champs.
3. Rams: I bet they love it when a plan comes together. Best in the NFC.
4. Bills: Any questions in Buffalo were answered by the demolition of the Patriots. What a performance. Now that is circling the wagons.
5. Bengals: The Raiders did what they do, but Cincinnati survived.
6. Buccaneers: The target of more than a few upset specials, Tampa Bay made quick work of Philadelphia.
7. Packers: They drop a spot in the bye week. Sorry, we won’t believe in the Bay until we see it.
8. 49ers: Hot at the right time, but the mistakes won’t be as easily forgiven and the penalties might not be as easily given going forward.
ELIMINATED
9. Raiders: Showed they belonged better than most. What comes next?
10. Cowboys: The end was so… Cowboys. 1995 was so long ago.
11. Cardinals: Welcome to the big stage. Can they reverse the fade and make it back next year?
12. Patriots: That had to be humbling, right?
13. Steelers: Maybe a Raiders-Chargers tie would have been better for Pittsburgh and Big Ben after all.
14. Eagles: The NFC East is the worst, and somehow Philly’s performance was a bigger letdown than Dallas. Something to build on for next year, though.
