Even when everyone picked the 73-9 Warriors, we said Cavs. And we were right. We were one of only three to pick the Toronto Raptors in 2019. Right again. The Eagles last year? That was our pick. We’re right this year, too, even if it isn’t against the grain. And we don’t expect it to be all that close. The Seahawks’ defense will dominate these surprisingly likeable Patriots. But it will be closer to the first New England Super Bowl (46-10 Bears) than the dynasty years. And that’s okay. The Pats can be proud that they are already back after a brief AFC dominance detour to Kansas City. Meanwhile, the Seahawks might be building something with longevity in Seattle. They missed the playoffs by a game last year, and now they’re on top of the NFC. Sam Darnold has just one last ghost to chase away – a winless record against the Patriots – and the Seahawks fanbase has been just as haunted ever since that infamous goal line call. They’ll exorcise it all in a dominant display on Super Bowl Sunday.
